Installation Guide for Inofile Messengerâ„¢ - Version 5

System Requirements

Refer to the Administration Guide for Inofile Messenger™ 5.0.

Installation Procedures

  1. The user performing the installation must be an administrator to the Windows Server, and have dbcreator and securityadmin roles on the SQL Server.  As this administrator, log on to the server selected to host your Inofile Messenger™ server.
  2. Prior to installation, a "Messenger" service account must be created.  
  3. Run the installation program: Inofile.Messenger.Installer.exe.
  4. Inofile Messenger™ Setup – After launching the software, click [Next] to proceed with the installation setup.


     
  5. Inofile End User License Agreement -Read the EULA and check the box to accept the terms of the license agreement. Click [Next] to continue. 


     
  6. Country of Installation – Select the country where the installation is being performed.  Click[Next] to continue.


     
  7. Certificate Information – Enter the information required for registration and the issuance of an SSL certificate.  Click [Next] to continue.


     
  8. License Key – Enter the License Key.  Click [Next] to continue.


     
  9. Select Installation Folder – Click [Browse…] to change the installation path from its default.  Click [Next] to continue.


     
  10. Data Directory – Click the [Browse…] button to change the folder location used for import, export, archive, and log files from its default.  Click [Next] to continue.


     
  11. Document Output Directory – Click the [Browse…] button to change the location for document output.  Click [Next] to continue.


     
  12. Inofile Messenger™ Web Application Location – Click the [Browse…] button to select the folder used to store the files used by the Data Administrator and web services.  It is recommended to change from the default which is used by the Default website in IIS.  Click[Next] to continue.


     
  13. SQL Server Logon Information – Enter the database server name, the instance name if applicable, and the desired name for the Messenger database.  To use SQL Server Authentication instead of the recommended Integrated Security, remove the checkmark from the[Use Integrated Security].  This will display fields to specify a username and password.  Click[Next] to continue.


     
  14. Service User Logon Information - Enter the credentials for the account you have selected to run the Inofile Messenger™ Data Service and Inofile application pool.  The account should be specified using its SAM account name (pre-Windows 2000 domain name).  Click [Next] to continue.


     
  15. Error Email Server Information - If you check the box [Notification Email Enabled], you will need to enter the SMTP information for your email account (This information should be available from your email administrator.).  Click [Next] to enter recipient addresses.



    14(a).  (Optional) Message Error Email Addresses – If Notification Email is enabled, you have the option of entering email addresses that will receive notification of message level (critical) errors.  After entering all applicable email addresses, click [Next] to continue.



    14(b).  (Optional) Fatal Error Email Addresses – If Notification Email is enabled, you have the option of entering email addresses that will receive notification of fatal errors.  After entering all applicable email addresses, click [Next] to continue.


     
  16. Secondary HL7 Pickup – If you choose to Enable Secondary HL7 Pickup (It is uncommon for inbound HL7 messages to be copied to this folder.), check the box [Enable Secondary HL7 Pickup] and click the [Browse…] button to select the folder.  Click [Next] to continue.


     
  17. Inofile Messenger™ HL7 Import Settings – The default values affecting HL7 Polling Interval, Message Retention, and Message Archive can be changed at any time after installation.  It is recommended that you accept the default values during installation.  Click [Next] to continue.


     
  18. Inofile Messenger™ HL7 Separators – You can specify HL7 Separator characters.  The default values represent the commonly used separators of the HL7 standards.  Click [Next] to continue.


     
  19. Outbound Message Generation Settings – You can specify whether outbound messages will be generated and the frequency of outbound message generation by clicking the [Outbound Message Generation Enabled] checkbox and selecting Polling Interval and Iteration values.  It is recommended that you accept the default values during installation.  Select [Use ECM Document ID] if integration with a third party content management system will be updating Inofile Messenger™ with its Document ID before the outbound message should be generated.  Click[Next] to continue.


     
  20. Additional Document Output – You can select any additional document output types by checking the box next to the specific format.  Click [Next] to continue.


     
  21. Maintenance Schedule – Select the [Maintenance Enabled] checkbox to enable maintenance to run at the specified time.  Click [Next] to continue.


     
  22. Review Your Settings and Install – Now that the basic configuration information has been specified, you may review the settings and configuration.  Press [Install] to begin the installation process or press [Back] to make changes to prior selections.


     
  23. Finish – The setup wizard has completed and Inofile Messenger™ is installed.  Click [Finish] to exit the installer.

Post Installation

  1. Define User Access - There are four local groups created during installation on this server and are used for varying levels of access to the Data Administrator web application.
    1. InofileDataManagers
      1. Users who should have access to perform list maintenance in the Data Administrator must be granted membership in this group. This would include department codes, document types, document levels and statuses, order statuses and types, patient types, providers, and provider specialties, statuses and roles.  
    2. InofileDocumentManagers
      1. Users who should have access to update documents and perform unmerge processes in the Data Administrator must be granted membership in this group.
    3. InofileReportViewers
      1. Users who should only have access to reports in the Data Administrator must be granted membership in this group.
    4. InofileMessengerAdministrators 
      1. Users who should have full access to the Data Administrator must be granted membership in this group. This access would include all of the above, plus settings configured in the installation process.
         
  2. Internet Explorer Settings

    1. Compatibility mode is not supported.
       
  3. Add Sending HL7 Application - This will be performed in the Data Administrator by a member of the InofileMessengerAdministrators group.

    1. This is located under Settings > HL7 > HL7 Applications.
    2. Add the HL7 Sending Application Name(s) and Application Aliases.
